ASLP-IC Commission

What is the ASLP-IC Commission?

The ASLP-IC Commission is the interstate administrative body created by the Compact. The Commission is composed of two Delegates from each member state’s licensing board/agency and is tasked with implementing the Compact’s provisions for interstate practice of audiology and SLP.

Nahale Kalfas is the compact’s Legal Counsel.

Andrew Floyd is the compact’s Executive Director.

The Council of State Governments (CSG) assists with services related to activating the compact.

The National Council of State Boards of Examiners (NCSB) provides secretariat services to the compact.

When will the Compact be operational?

The ASLP-IC Commission convened for the first time in January 2022. The Commission will adopt initial bylaws and rules to carry out the Compact. The Commission will also provide for the creation of an interstate licensure data system allowing for rapid verification of practitioners’ good standing and sharing of disciplinary information among member states.

This activation process generally takes 18 months to two years but can take longer. Please refer to this page periodically for updates from the ASLP-IC Commission.
